Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy Note II said to be imminent

Samsung logoOwners of Samsung's Galaxy Note II will likely be receiving an update to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in the very near future. A screenshot showed up on the Twitter account @bhanusoi, clearly displaying that the device in question was running Android 4.3. Observers have noted that the Android build is likely already in the hands of Samsung's service centers, and it may be rolling out to assorted carriers in a short period.

The Android 4.3 update for the Note II was already leaked through an internal Best Buy memo. That memo pointed to the Note II getting the new software on November 29 for Verizon customers, November 20 for AT&T customers, November 20 for Sprint customers, and December 2 for T-Mobile customers. Whether those dates will hold remains to be seen, but the presence of the Android build in the wild seems to indicate that it will not be too long before the update is released.

Android 4.3 is largely an incremental update for most Android devices. Samsung flagship devices receiving the update, though, will also gain compatibility with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch the tech giant released earlier this year. Note II users will also see the functionality of their S Pen styluses improved, as the Note II will be able to access the same features Samsung built into the Galaxy Note 3.
