Windows 9 design has Metro-style gadgets on the desktop

Windows 9 logoMicrosoft removed the desktop gadgets in Windows 8, claiming that they were insecure and could lead to major vulnerabilities of the modern system, but it’s no secret that users actually liked them a lot.

A new Windows 9 concept created by DeviantArt user SoftwarePortalPlus comes with a modern interpretation of the good old gadgets, adopting a modern design style that’s pretty much in line with Microsoft’s new language adopted for Windows 8.

Windows 9 design has Metro-style gadgets on the desktop

A redesigned taskbar with a flat look and transparency, as well as new desktop icons for the built-in tools, such as My Computer, users, SkyDrive, and Recycle Bin are also part of the concept.

Of course, chances are that Microsoft will most likely ignore this concept, but at least it’s a sign that users want the old gadget system back in Windows.
