Apple to unveil iOS 7 and major new OS X version at WWDC 2013

Apple logoApples Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Philip Schiller, gave a brief statement confirming new versions of iOS and OS X.

In Apples press statement regarding the WWDC 2013 timetable, Philip Schiller confirmed that the company would unveil new versions of its mobile and desktop operating systems, adding that Apple is very excited about their launch.

We look forward to gathering at WWDC 2013 with the incredible community of iOS and OS X developers, said Schiller, Apples SVP of Worldwide Marketing.

Our developers have had the most prolific and profitable year ever, and were excited to show them the latest advances in software technologies and developer tools to help them create innovative new apps."

We cant wait to get new versions of iOS and OS X into their hands at WWDC, Schiller outlined.

By all accounts, Apples next mobile operating system will be iOS 7, while OS X 10.9 should be the next major version of the companys desktop operating system.

Weve been able to confirm that Apple is testing the two OSes internally by checking with our server logs.

Apple has been accessing the Internet from systems running OS X 10.9 and iOS 7 for the past few months, and weve even noticed a spike in visits recently.

Its a regular practice at Apple before any major software unveiling, and this year was no different.

Apple is expected to unveil a completely redesigned iOS 7 after instating Jonathan Ive as head of Human Interfaces across the companys software.

The Cupertino giant, however, hasnt dropped any hints as to what the next OS X will be like in terms of graphics and / or functionality.

One rumor says Apple is preparing to unveil a blizzard of new products soon. If it turns out to be accurate, the next-generation iOS and OS X will undoubtedly by at the core of each and every one of them.
