Windows 8 RTM out now for MSDN, TechNet subscribers

Windows 8 logoThe final RTM build of Windows 8 is now making its way into the hands of the first "real" users. As of 10am PDT, MSDN and TechNet subscribers should be able to find the software on their respective download sites, though typically there are minor delays as the bits make their way to Microsoft's various mirrors.

Over the next few weeks volume license and Action Pack customers will also be able to download the RTM build, ahead of retail availability on October 26.

The RTM is only slightly different from the Release Preview version released in May. Some icons are updated, the install process has a brief tutorial on the new user interface, new wallpapers have been added, and the final desktop theme is in place.

Microsoft has also made available a 90-day trial for developers, which you can download here.
