webOS 2.0 updates coming to all webOS devices early in 2011?

Palm logoHP may not be ready to distribute webOS 2.0 updates to the entire range of webOS devices until sometime in the first quarter of 2011, according to a Twitter post from O2 Germany. Palm initially promised v2.0 to arrive before the end of 2010, but the latest version of the operating system is currently only available pre-installed on the Pre 2.

Other rumors from the Spanish site webOS en Castellano suggest existing Pre and Pixi handsets will jump straight to v2.1 instead of receiving v2.0 as an intermediate update. Features for the v2.1 update remain unclear, however, and the rumor has yet to be verified or corroborated.
