VLC logoVLC (VideoLAN) popularity grows nowadays. It is multifunctional video player. Playing of any video formats is in the list of its functions. In addition it operates with DVD disks. It can receive broadcast through LAN that is sent by VideoLAN Server application or another one. DVB card receivers is supported too.

A lot of users like VLC because of its possibility to play many modern HD video formats. So far codecs for HD are very exotic being, but VLC has them. Besides that player is able to transfer between tracks and it is cross-platform application. The other day new VLC version 1.1.3 was released. Its modifications are fixed bugs.
