Microsoft Edge browser tops 5 million downloads in the Google Play Store

Microsoft logoMicrosoft's mobile browser, Edge continues to cross new important milestones on the Android platform. The app achieved 1 million downloads in the Google Play Store back in December 2017, which was quite an important record for Microsoft's browser.

Fast forward six months and Microsoft Edge crosses the 5 million downloads mark, an even greater achievement for the Android app. If the trend continues and people keep downloading and using Microsoft Edge on their Android devices, we wouldn't be surprised if the browser will reach more than 10 million downloads by the end of the year.

Microsoft Edge

If you're not familiar with Microsoft Edge, the mobile browser is mainly meant to offer a continuous browsing experience for Windows 10 users, but that's not the only highlight of the app. Edge includes a QR Code Reader, Voice Search, and a solid InPrivate mode that allows users to surf the mode incognito without the app saving any browsing data.

Add to that the fact that Microsoft updates Edge pretty often and you got a great formula for success. If you haven't yet tried out Microsoft Edge for Android, you can download it now for free via Google Play Store and see what's it all about.
