Skype for Windows Desktop released

Skype logoFollowing what seems like a well-received preview, Microsoft has released a new stable version of Skype for Windows (desktop) that features a new user interface along with a collection of new features and improvements.

Unlike the previous version, the new user interface allows users on a video call to share files and images without having to end and leave the call, which makes for a seamless experience and can come in very handy particularly in business/enterprise scenarios. Speaking of which, making conference calls is now simpler and they are easier to view.

Additionally, the layout of UI elements has also been readjusted, particularly between contacts and chats, so what you end up with is a well-balanced and sharp interface, and one that is consistent across devices, be its desktops, tablets, or phones. It’s the collection of tiny improvements that make the difference.

Check it out for yourself by downloading the new Skype from the download link below, or if you prefer, you could opt for the Modern UI version of the app which you can get from the Windows Store.
