Game Boy emulator makes its way onto Android Wear

Google logoLast week we saw how it was possible to get Windows 95 flashed onto the Samsung Gear Live smartwatch, and if you’re wondering what other potential applications the smartwatch could run, Davenport has returned and this time round it seems that he has managed to get a Game Boy emulator up and running on his Android Wear device.

You can check it out in the video above, but basically Davenport has managed to install the Game Boy emulator on his watch. This means that he gets to play Nintendo games like Pokemon while connected to a MOGA Hero Power gamepad. Now we suppose it doesn’t make sense to play on such a tiny display, but we guess it’s not really so much the display itself, but rather the novelty of it all.

Imagine being able to fire up a quick game of Pokemon while on the go where all you’d have to do is wear your watch, which you would normally do, and carry a gamepad with you while you’re on the move. Not exactly convenient but the novelty factor is definitely there.

That being said, if you’re looking to do something similar and try it out for yourself, Davenport has provided a tutorial for you to follow, but in the meantime check out the video above to see Pokemon in action on an Android Wear device.
