Google organizes offline apps in Chrome Web Store

Google Chrome logoGoogle has made some changes to its Chrome Web Store, adding a dedicated section for offline apps and expanding the store into six new countries. The official Chromium blog tells that developers will also see other improvements, including enhancements to app and extension performance.

The offline section has been launched with a Google-curated selection, giving top billing to the search company's own offerings. Productivity apps also make the top section of the collection, along with gaming staples such as Angry Birds. The previous change to the store occurred in April, with the introduction of a Trending filter.

Developers will have access to the last 90 days of activity for their app or extension. Downloadable as a CSV file, the data shows installation numbers and how many times the app listing has been viewed in the store. With the market now open to Turkey, Ukraine, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates, the extra information is expected to help with app creation.
