Galaxy S V concept packs waterproof capabilities, 16MP camera

Samsung logoSamsung’s Galaxy S 4 flagship smartphone arrived on shelves only a month ago, but it is already selling great, with over 10 million units shipped to date, and enthusiasts are starting to dream of what the next Galaxy S handset from the company might have to offer.

Undoubtedly, Samsung is already working on the upcoming device, supposedly set to hit shelves as Galaxy S 5, and a concept phone that shows what some people would like to see inside it is now available.

Dubbed Galaxy S V, the concept device points at a waterproof and dustproof design, which would put the upcoming handset in line with Sony’s Xperia Z, LG’s Optimus GJ and other similar smartphones.

The concept device features a 5.2-inch touchscreen display of unknown resolution, while also packing beefed up internal hardware when compared to the current flagship from Samsung.

The concept phone, coming from 91mobiles (via smartphenom), was built based on the rumored Galaxy S 5 specs and features that already emerged online.

Thus, it comes with a 2GHz eight-core processor packed inside, as well as with 4GB of RAM, which should deliver increased performance capabilities to users.

Furthermore, the device packs 32GB / 64GB / 128GB of internal memory, and should also feature a microSD memory card slot with support for additional storage space.

On the back, the concept phone features a 16-megapixel photo snapper, capable of offering a high-end photo shooting and video recording experience. On the front, the device sports a 5MP camera for video calling while on the go.

Other features of the concept handset include a 3200mAh battery inside, along with a new flavor of Google’s Android OS loaded on top, namely 5.0 Key Lime Pie, and a metallic body.

Overall, the concept device appears to be quite close to reality, and chances are that Samsung would indeed release the next flagship Galaxy S smartphone with similar features. For the time being, however, Galaxy S V is nothing more than a concept device, and you should take it as it is.
