Content from a connected USB port can be quickly shared to mobile devices as well thanks to another D-Link mobile app, SharePort. Four 10/100/1,000 Ethernet ports allow adding a wired connection to devices.

At the heart of the router is Broadcom's 5G Wi-Fi (802.11ac) chip, which is said to offer transfer speeds up to three times faster that the best Wireless N tech. It also uses a 5GHz band for less interference and is backwards-compatible as well as future-proof thanks to supporting the IPv6 standard. Security is ensured thanks to an SPI firewall and WPA/WPA2 security.

The router is now shipping at online retailers, priced at $190.
