Xbox Project Scorpio will run Microsoft-made games at native 4K

Microsoft logoDetails about Microsofts Project Scorpio Xbox are a bit slim right now, and given that the company only plans on releasing it next year, we guess we still have a bit of waiting before details like images of the console, its hardware specs, functions, and features are revealed, but in the meantime there is some good news.

During an interview with USA Today (via IGN), Microsoft Studios Publishing general manager Shannon Loftis revealed that Microsoft-made games that run on Project Scorpio will be displayed at native 4K. What this means is that the games itself will be made with 4K in mind, as opposed to developers upscaling it to 4K, which could work but we guess isnt quite the same.

According to Loftis, Any games were making that were launching in the Scorpio time frame, were making sure they can natively render at 4K. This could give Microsoft an advantage over the PS4 Pro which according to an interview with Digital Spy, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Andrew House suggested that the PS4 Pro could largely rely on upscaling.

Like we said, the exact details and full specs of Project Scorpio have yet to be revealed, but with Microsoft only planning for a launch by Holiday 2017, gamers will have no choice but to wait. In the meantime Sony will be beating Microsoft to the market as the PS4 Pro is set for a release this coming November.
