For the past few months, it has been rumored that Google is going to introduce two new Nexus smartphones this year and that both of them will be manufactured by HTC. While nothing has been officially confirmed the rumor mill appears to be convinced that this is how itТs going to be in 2016. A new report out of South Africa contradicts popular belief, quoting a Huawei executive as saying that the Chinese manufacturer will be Уdoing the Nexus again this year.Ф
GearBurnТs report features a statement from HuaweiТs head of consumer business in South Africa who says that Huawei will be making the Nexus again this year.
The statement has not been backed up by Huawei yet, or Google for that matter, even though both companies worked on a Nexus handset just last year. It was the first time that Google called upon Huawei to make a Nexus smartphone and it certainly wonТt be surprising if it does that again.
ItТs only speculation right now that Google has decided to drop HTC as the manufacturing partner for this yearТs Nexus devices in favor of HTC. DonТt read too much into it until we receive an official confirmation from any of the companies involved. It may be a while before they say something.
