Surface Phone specs rumored yet again

Microsoft logoEven though Microsoft has taken some big steps recently to show that it may not be willing to fight in the consumer smartphone market for long, rumors still circulated about the much-awaited Surface Phone. We’ve heard for some time now that the company is going to release a new Windows-powered smartphone under the Surface brand but that has yet to happen. Rumors from China once again point us to possible Surface Phone specs.

The latest rumor suggests that Microsoft is going to launch the Surface Phone in the first quarter of 2017 and that it’s going to tout Qualcomm’s unannounced Snapdragon 830 processor.

Surface Phone specs rumored yet again

It’s also claimed that there will be two variants of this phone: one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, the other with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. One variant has been rumored for businesses which is claimed to have a whopping 8GB of RAM with 500GB of onboard storage, however outrageous that might sound.

That’s the thing with rumors, you can’t really be sure about them, and they do have a habit of turning out to be wrong. Microsoft hasn’t really addressed this Surface Phone matter and at a time when it’s clearly winding down its presence in the consumer smartphone market, one can hardly expect the company to talk about the future of its smartphone business.
