Apple reportedly further reducing iPhone production Due to sluggish sales

Apple logoThe iPhone is the biggest cash cow for Apple and if recent reports are believed, it appears that all is not well, as the company is believed to have told its suppliers to maintain reduced output of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus since it expects sluggish sales to continue through the end of the June quarter. This leads some credibility to rumors that year-over-year declines in iPhone sales continue to rise.

Nikkei reports that Apple continues to see sluggish sales for the iPhone 6s handsets. Even though the new 4 inch iPhone SE is expected to drive some sales in the low-end segment of the market this particular handset isn’t expected to sell so much so that it will offset the decline iPhone 6s sales.

Reports started trickling in late last year that iPhone 6s just wasn’t exhibiting the level of growth that its predecessors had experienced. Apple did mention in January that the iPhone could see its first ever year-over-year decline in shipments so there was some truth to those reports.

Now we’re hearing that things haven’t improved since for the existing flagship smartphones. This leads many to speculate that perhaps Apple will introduce the iPhone 7 before the usual September launch but so far there’s not much evidence to support this theory.
