Amazon will reportedly launch 6 inch Fire tablet this fall

Amazon logoAmazon’s tablets have exhibited decent performance in the tablet but they haven’t been as successful as the iPad, if one really felt the need to make a comparison, perhaps that’s why the company might be considering to seriously up its tablet game. It might not do that by launching a powerhouse, instead if a new report is to be believed Amazon might try to fight on price by launching a 6 inch Fire tablet that’s priced very competitively against its rivals in the market.

The Wall Street Journal reports today that Amazon is going to start selling a new 6 inch Fire tablet this fall which is going to cost $50, that’s about half of what the company is currently asking for its Fire HD 6 tablet, which sells for $99.

Amazon has reportedly outsourced development of this tablet to overseas firms such as Huaqin Telecom Technology Co. and Taiwan’s Compal Communications Inc. in order to keep costs down so that the $50 price target can be achieved.

The report doesn’t provide any details about this cheap tablet’s specifications, only that it’s going to have a mono speaker instead of a stereo speaker.

It is also claimed that Amazon might launch new 8 inch and 10 inch tablets alongside this new product in the fall but there’s no information as yet regarding the features and specifications of those tablets.

Another great podcast spgnirs into view.Count me in among the many who have plummeted to their doom due to a faulty' joystick. And yeah, it's good to see Burger Time get some love (maybe too much?), even if it is amidst list-making controversy. We had trouble with Q*Bert controls at first, but the quirky gameplay, insane characters and hilarious sounds kept us coming back 'til we were succesfully average. And yeah, Gottlieb, bring it back to physical reality, willya? Instead of those dance-dance machines at the plexes I could go for some jumping games where I stay put.
