Rumored Huawei Nexus has some specs outed

Huawei logoA couple of months ago, rumors started to show up saying Huawei would be making a Nexus smartphone this year. It may not be the only company doing so (LG will apparently launch a Nexus too), but it will.

Today these rumors have seemingly been confirmed by yet another report from China, where an analyst claims he knows a few specs of the first Huawei Nexus phone.

According to him, the handset will sport a 5.7-inch QHD (2,560x1,440) touchscreen, and it will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 SoC.

Last we heard anything about this matter, Huawei was apparently still deciding whether to use one of its own chipsets or go with Qualcomm's best. So it looks like the Chinese smartphone maker chose the latter route in the end.

The Huawei Nexus is expected to launch in the second half of the year, as per the same source. Although we're talking about a pretty well known analyst in China, hopefully you've had a standard issue grain of salt nearby for this one. If this turns out to be true, then Huawei will be the first ever Chinese OEM to build a Nexus device.
