Second wave of Apple Watch pre-orders could start May 8th

Apple logoThe Apple Watch officially launches in nine countries on Friday, April 24th. Pre-orders are currently being accepted in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S. According to a report out of Italy, the next wave of pre-orders will begin May 8th when those living in Italy will be able to pre-order the smartwatch online or at an Apple Store. While consumers will be able to reserve a watch from the store, they won't be allowed to walk out of the place with the Apple Watch adorning their wrist.

There is some speculation that the the second wave of countries that will offer the Apple Watch will be the same as the second tier of countries that were able to order the Apple iPhone 6 last year. In addition to Italy, those countries are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
