Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 in FCC certification

Samsung logoWe already knew that Samsung plans to release a Galaxy Tab 8.4 Pro around February 2014, but more details have emerged from the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) filing related to the device. For one, the Tab Pro 8.4 will feature WiFi AC (alongside A/B/G/N WiFi protocols) and Bluetooth LE. The latter can be very useful when paired with a growing number of Bluetooth LE devices that are designed to transmit data continuously such as fitness devices and other wearable technologies.

Interestingly, the image found in the FCC documents show an LED flash on the back side of the device, which is not common on tablet, and hopefully, it is there to support a high-quality camera similar to the ones found in smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.4 Pro

Earlier rumors suggested that the model names for this device could be SM-T520 and SM-T525, and at this time, it is not clear if Samsung will officially announce the tablet at CES in the first week of January, or later at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We will be present at both events, so we’ll keep an eye out for it.

The “Pro” hints that the tablet may be optimized for enterprise usage (with Samsung SAFE and KNOX), but it could also mean “high-end” as well. What do you think, and what would YOU like to see in a “pro” 8.4 tablet?
