Windows Phone Store now at nine million daily transactions

Windows Phone logoMicrosoft's Windows Phone Store continues to grow apace, even if it greatly trails Google's Play Store and Apple's App Store. The software giant reported on its Windows Phone Developer Blog that the platform now serves nine million transactions of app and in-app purchases per day. That adds up to 270 million transactions per month, solid growth for the platform.

In June, the Windows Phone Store was processing 200 million transactions per month, according to Engadget. That means that, over the course of three months, Microsoft's platform saw greater than 33 percent growth in transactions. It, again, lags far behind both iOS and Android, which have user bases an order of magnitude greater than Windows Phone, but that growth and continued growth in the app library are positive signs for the software giant.

In the post, Microsoft also informed developers that it will be streamlining payouts from carriers so that they are processed after 30 days. The company will also be increasing the presence of ads on the platform in order to drive developer revenue.
