3D porn is on the way

If there was any doubt as to whether or not 3D was the viable new medium, the questions are now answered - a 3D porn movie is already in the works.

Porn has historically been a litmus test as to whether or not a new video format will be successful. The prevalence of adult video content is occasionally credited for the success of VHS and DVD.

European porn producer Mark Dorcel has announced that he is working on a film called Kama-sutra, which will take full advantage of the new stereoscopic 3D technology.

The title is actually being shot with 3D cameras, so sub-par post-production 3D effects won't be an issue. This is the real deal.

Dorcel claims his porn flick is the first one shot in 3D, according to a Gizmodo news story. However, he noted that not all porn is suited for 3D conversions. I wonder which ones...
