45 nm processor was introduced by Intel in Moscow

In the 12 of December, in Moscow Intel conducted a press-conference under the name "Mission 45". The primary purpose of measure consisted in presentation of wide audience of journalists of Penryn 45 nm processors. A basic lecture was conducted by Dmitry Konash, regional director Intel in Russia and countries of the CIS.

More accessible table processors of Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Duo, and also their mobile analogues, will enter sale in the first quarter of next year. Some words about Nehalem. We described the main possibilities in one of our articles. Now we’d like to introduce some words about Nehalem from Intel official documents. New architecture will supply following possibilities:

  • Dynamic manage of the processor nucleus, calculating flows, cash-memory, interfaces and power supply;
  • Possibility to handle 4 commands for 1 tact cycle in Intel Core micro architecture (other processors handle only 3 or less commands for one cycle);
  • Parallel flow handling (Intel Hyper-Threading technology) which provides the productivity rise and power consumption decreasing;
  • Architecture expansion with innovational commands Intel SSE4 and ATA;
  • Highly productive multilevel cash-memory;
  • High capacity memory and system productivity;
  • Dynamic power supply management with increasing the productivity;
  • Productivity scalability from 1 to 16 (and more) flows and from 1 to 8 (and more) processor nucleus;
  • Salable customizable intersystem combination and integrative memory controllers;
  • High-productive integrative graphic processor for client platforms.

What, much of this list were predicted a year ago. Although so far not clear, whether Nehalem will become by something new, as one time Pentium 4 became, or Core architecture situation will repeat which was developed on the basis of P6, initially created for CPU Pentium Pro. Less than a year needs to wait to know everything. But, we are sure; Intel will not let down us.
